Seiko Samurai

Post by Brklynlarsons » Tue Jan 08, 2013 7:09 am

Anybody here own one in SS? I've been seeing these occasionally on the boards, and I love the look of this case. A little different. Also, I've seen the white dial, but do they make one in blue?

Cheers,
Robert

The SBDA003 is a blue one. Very good-looking piece, and Titanium, too. I hear the titanium model is very difficult to find.

Ti models are nice but pricey.... they are also scratch queens.

SS models have a slightly different design in that the SS model is without crown guards...

Thanks for the help. The Ti is more expensive than I want to spend. I like the SS. I'm going to see if I can find the blue one.

I had a black SS model. I really liked it but prices have risen past the point that I would buy another one. I like the SS case better because the crown guards on the Ti model ruin the lines.

A couple of years ago while on a visit to Princeton Watches, Steve told me Seiko USA offered him several hundred of the SS in black. Seiko needed to unload the inventory. He posted them for $210-219 NIB.....I think he had 300-400 units....

I was tired of Seiko at the time and passed... wish I would have bought 5.

That is where I bought mine from. I sold it for what I paid but if I had waited another six months I could have sold it for much more.

...makes sense... I posted the deal here on DWC when I got back to the office...

another Princeton story..... when the SeikoUSA rep initially had the Monsters brought into the US no retailers showed interest, or very few.... when Steve saw the Orange he felt it would be a seller ...so he ordered 500 Orange and 250 Black...... the Seiko rep was happy as hell.
But when they all sold and Steve reordered he told the rep he would order the same quantities each time at the SAME PRICE......

I picked up one of the Princeton watches a few years ago as well. Nice watches, I would put them a notch above the SKX and Monsters, especially on the bracelet. No way I would pay today's prices though. Not with that movement.

Had this briefly. Fun watches for what they are and how much they used to go for. Definitely not now though.

I had three Samurai's and modded all three. They are great watches and would love to have one again.

So at last you can get an attractive 200m white face watch without having to sell the car to buy a Rolex Yachtmaster. Good news...

At last? These were discontinued years ago.

Hi. I bought an orange titanium samurai in Japan in 2007. I didn't know what it was until recently when a mate saw it and told me it has a cult following. I don't get it, it's just a watch. I was thinking about selling it. Anyone know what it's worth? It's got the titanium strap.
