Tsunami in da house! UPDATED with v2.0!

Post by hoppyjr » Mon Nov 19, 2012 8:51 pm

Hey Guys - (my newer one, #19 is posted later in this thread).

My Tsunami (57/100) just arrived from its prior home in Colorado and I'm a happy guy. I can't believe the build quality of this thing - especially at this price point!

In to the pics;

Nice.

Although, I never liked the bezel lume pip on those. I would have preferred a flat one.

Everything else is perfect.

Mine appears to be bead-blast finish (I thought it was brushed) so I will likely look for a brushed one. I'll change it to MM300 hands and different bezel insert and it will be perfect. That said, this one is no slouch - the quality is truly amazing for a sub-$1k piece. Jake has done a nice job here.

I will advice you not to swap the hands. It's perfect.

I will leave these alone as I agree they look great. I was thinking of MM300 hands on my next one.

I wish I could get an idea of how an actual MM300 wears (size wise) compared to this one. I realize its "bigger" but the dial/bezel diameter on this 6309 case is about the smallest I am comfortable wearing. I'd really like a MM300 to add to the stable, but its a lot of money for something I may have to flip.

The MM300 is bigger but in weight and in presence. Not in physical size.

So it would have as much dial/bezel presence? I can handle a few extra grams, but not a smaller looking face. To put it in perspective, the difference between the old Sub & SD was noticeable enough to me to where I'd wear a Sub, but the thicker case & smaller dial of a SD was something I didn't care for.

No plans for that. I was referring to the MM300 I am considering. I'm trying to make sure I will be large enough before I spend the bigger bucks for it. Sorry, I rambled and went off the Tsunami topic....

DAMN!!! this looks like a great combo!!!! I do not like the non-tapering bracelet on the Tsu but I think this bracelet would solve this issue for me.

great pickup Hoppy, the Tsu is a great watch.

Thanks guys!

Yes, bracelet is in the box. I removed it as I have other bracelet watches, so I'll just keep it in case I decide to let it go down the road. The bracelet seems of great quality too.

Am I the only one who likes Seiko Diver's on a Flat Z22?

I tried it on Isofrane too, but it felt too small for me. The NATO works on my wrist, but I'm sure the Z22 would look killer on this piece.

I'm using restraint tonight - a MK II LRRP Milsub popped up on WUS and I really want one of those too.... :(

Also the MM300 rubber looks absolutely killer on the tsunami, too

Looks good on a Z22 but I find that I only like to wear them on Zulus. I have tried just about everything else.
