I've read many an article but nobody has had a definitive answer. Thought it was an old zodiac myself.

I had that one for a brief time, it’s really well done. As far as homages go..

I’ve wanted that Resco one.

The reissue from the actual company I think is over priced and used cheap movement

I like that Resco reissue too. $1,300 just seems pretty rich for a 2824-2 powered micro with a printed dial and NATO strap.

Is this watch entirely Swiss Made or something that pushes the price up?

Jaws is my favorite movie, ever (going to watch it for about the 20th time tonight, actually), and I've been seriously tempted to pick up the Alsta reissue for awhile. I haven't, though, because I just know I'd be disappointed.

I thought the same thing when I picked up the Zissou Vostok, as Life Aquatic is my favorite movie. But even after getting it and seeing that it was assembled with broken dreams and old rusty car parts I still love it for what it is. Reminds me of the movie and old dive stuff..so meh. Whatever.

Watched Jaws and Jaws 2 for the hundredth times this weekend. Two of my favorites ever.

Maybe not as interesting as Hooper's Alsta, but the watch Chief Brody wore throughout the movie was a cool Hamilton Lyndon CLD.
