Thinking of buying a vintage rolex

Post by andyt1337 » Thu May 18, 2017 1:26 pm

Hi guys,

I am currently looking to buy a vintage rolex. I quite like the Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 - does anyone have one that would recommend it? Or is there anything else you could recommend?

Found one i like from http://www.ukspecialistwatches.co.uk

Thank you,
Andy.

Welcome to the forum. There is an amazing 1665 currently for sale in the sales forum here, which you will be able to access after the required number of posts (25 maybe)?

Welcome and to follow on Todd's lead, vintage Rolex (and 1665's in particular) are great collectibles, and even greater risks, if you aren't careful. We are big fans of that reference, but cautious buyers and sellers outside the forum. You'll want to introduce yourself in another thread and get some photos of your collection posted before going headlong into a WTB thread.

Thank you Chocodove & TSD - glad to be here!

I will most certainly do that. I best get introducing myself.

Going to need a lot more information to give any useful advice ...

... the 1665 is a great watch, but buying vintage Rolex is a minefield. Far too easy to over pay or end up with a problematic watch.

Exactly. Unless you've been researching and/or buying vintage Rolex for a while...
