I know patina is not everyone's cup o' tea, but I couldn't resist this one. It was a real basket case when I got it - the gear train was gummed up, the hands turned intermittently, movement oil had leaked onto the dial, and the crystal was badly scratched. On a recommendation from Butch at VintageZodiacs.com, I sent it to Andy at Ultra-Vintage who specializes in vintage Zodiacs. He completely serviced the movement, replaced the crown and case tube, cleaned the dial, installed a new crystal, and lightly refinished the case and bracelet. The best part? I had the watch back in ten weeks.
Thanks for looking...

I really like that one. So Butch at VintageZodiacs.com can't service vintage Zodiac's?

From what I gathered Butch at VintageZodiacs could not service this particular vintage zodiac so suggested it (the vintage zodiac in question) be sent to ultra vintage who specialize in vintage zodiacs such as this vintage zodiac and could do the work that they (VintageZodiacs) could not do to this vintage zodiac. Thus your question as to VintageZodiacs ability to service a vintage Zodiac could be answered no in the case of this vintage zodiac but based on their name alone maybe they can service other vintage zodiacs.toxicavenger wrote:I really like that one. Cool watch, do you have before pictures.

Nice---always been a favorite..

For service and repairs, Butch uses what he calls BWG (Butch's Watch Guy). You contact Butch, tell him what you've got, what the problem is, and he then contacts BWG. BWG (currently being Andy/Ultra-Vintage) then contacts you. Not sure why so cloak and dagger, but couldn't be happier with the results.
Unfortunately I don't have any before pics. Wish I had taken some.
