AQUADIVE ELECTRONIC TIME-DEPTH WATCH MODEL "50" Orange

Post by amckiwi » Wed Jul 20, 2016 5:40 pm

I have been chasing one of these since I got into watches, so I consider this a grail found.
This version is the much more desirable orange faced one.
This is the second orange one I have bought the previous got lost in the postal system somewhere.
The watch comes with box and papers, I have never seen a set of them before.
It has some wabi but is in remarkable shape for its age, it has probably sat in somebodies sock draw for many years.
It is not running but I hope a battery change, clean/ regulation and a sympathetic pressure test will see it on my wrist.
I also have the Rotary version of this watch in metres.
I also have three current Aquadive watches with this case, a bronze with the smaller case and a model 77 so I can wear an Aquadive every day of the week.
Does this mean I drink the Aquadive cool aid?
I am very happy

Nice. Especially with the box and papers.

Definitely a nice catch where do you find these things with box and papers? This is like buying the old lady's Sunday car.

The original has a slimmer case back so hugs the wrist more and therefore is lower profile

Colour match for the dial

Need to take some pics in the sunlight as it is not really popping in these ones

Not much sun here at the moment

More pics
Weird that the caseback has numbers obscured by zero's
Anybody got a theory as to why this would be done?

I'm thinking that it is a replacement caseback.

Finally got this on the wrist.
The watch maker did a great job cleaning it up.
I was keeping weird time for a while but settled down now.
Not waterproof but I do not really care
Am loving it
