So it turns out...

Post by Steve O. » Mon Dec 07, 2015 2:27 pm

that after months of researching what type of strap was original to my Certina DS-2 PH200M, it was on the watch all along. The other day I happened upon a pic of my watch that was posted last year on WUS by the original owner. He stated in his post that the watch was all original including the Trident Seahorse Tropic strap. I contacted him and he told me that he received the watch as a birthday present in the early 1970's, wore it a couple of times, and then thought that he had lost it. Recently, while moving, he found it in an old box where it had sat for over thirty years! It was sold, changed hands a couple of times, and then found its way to me. Guess the search is over. Thanks for reading, and if you couldn't care less, thanks anyway!

Steve, that is in great condition. I had one of these, but was way more faded and battered. I sold it, but really, really regret it :banghead:

Thanks guys. I find it interesting that Certina would choose a relatively uncommon strap as apposed to a standard Tropic. Of course there was the bracelet option as well.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot. Pretty nice DS-2 you had there by the way.

Amazing that someone had a watch in a box for 30 years... And that you got it. Lucky.

Just hold on to it this time. Probably why I hardly sell any of my watches so I don't have to buy them back. Lucky for me the few I sold not ones I will have to rebuy.

I bought it earlier this year and have had it ever since, so not sure what you mean.
