Mafran Squale Master/Info Sought

Post by 3cGT » Thu Sep 24, 2015 5:40 am

Ive had this piece for a year and only worn it about a dozen times.
So little use that I talked myself into thinking I might let it go but when I
put it on the wrist I keep admiring the way it has grown old so beautifully
and what an amazing thing the case design is. Finished off with the acrylic bezel
and domed crystal this is why I love vintage pieces beyond anything a new
piece can inspire.

I have not been able to source any info re "Mafran" or anything meaningful that might help me
to get an approx date on this watch. Any Squale experts out there?

 Rob

Wow, very nice. I really need to find one of those for sale. I just got the modern version, but the 44mm case is a little overwhelming. I wish they kept that old case style.

Sorry, no info on Mafran

Hi Paul, interesting to see how the modern master carries the themes of the
earlier model, 40 years later. I have nearly jumped on a few new Squales but
keep getting distracted.

Mike, thanks that is a good suggestion as I suppose if anyone should know it
would be them. If the ignore me in english ill get the lady of the house to email
them in Italian.

hey Rob, great Squale! these early Master 100ATM cases are super cool and very desirable

these are late 60's Squales, before they went to Master cases with crown at 4...

yours is in great shape! hang on, they are classics!

PS: can't help you on the Mafran handle, but Squale/Von Buren made 'private label' watches for many small & unheard of companies prior to 1974... and my Melpier in black...
