Vintage Divers on Leather
Vintage Divers on Leather
After going back and forth on what strap to put this Breil Manta MM on, I've finally settled on a distressed leather NATO. Maybe not historically correct for the watch, but I like the look.
I know that there are a few here who have some of their vintage pieces on leather straps (Peter's awesome Eterna Super Kontiki comes to mind), so let's see 'em!

On one of Stewart's great straps
And wondering why I sold this Silverwave

Smart enough now to not consider selling this under any circumstances

Yup. I know it infuriates some purists but I know damn well I won't be diving with these and they do look nice on leather.

I don't have a problem with it when others do it, but I never seem to be able to allow myself to wear them that way.
Re: Vintage Divers on Leather
i've migrated more and more back to bracelets on my divers, with the occasional nato/zulu. i just don't have a good bracelet for this zodiac (and the end links are a bitch to source).
Re: Vintage Divers on Leather
yeah, we all know leather works on divers... screw the purists

Thanks! It's a 1978 Citizen 52-0110. They come up now and then on eBay but they often have incorrect hands and/or dials. Although they built these for longevity, I doubt Citizen foresaw people looking for replacement parts for 35 year old watches. As a result, people put some up for sale with a mishmash of parts because replacement parts are basically unavailable. That said, I've seen some really nice ones on eBay as well.Marjak wrote:Awesome Citizen Jay! What model is that? I want one....chévere wrote:Yup.
