Vintage Divers on Leather

Post by Steve O. » Thu Mar 19, 2015 10:36 am

After going back and forth on what strap to put this Breil Manta MM on, I've finally settled on a distressed leather NATO. Maybe not historically correct for the watch, but I like the look.

I know that there are a few here who have some of their vintage pieces on leather straps (Peter's awesome Eterna Super Kontiki comes to mind), so let's see 'em!

Yup. I know it infuriates some purists but I know damn well I won't be diving with these and they do look nice on leather.

I don't have a problem with it when others do it, but I never seem to be able to allow myself to wear them that way.

i've migrated more and more back to bracelets on my divers, with the occasional nato/zulu. i just don't have a good bracelet for this zodiac (and the end links are a bitch to source).

Thanks! It's a 1978 Citizen 52-0110. They come up now and then on eBay but they often have incorrect hands and/or dials. Although they built these for longevity, I doubt Citizen foresaw people looking for replacement parts for 35 year old watches. As a result, people put some up for sale with a mishmash of parts because replacement parts are basically unavailable. That said, I've seen some really nice ones on eBay as well.
