My Hanhart is Back
My Hanhart is Back
A few months ago the chrono function had a problem. Andrew a member here told me about the watchmaker he sent his Sinn chrono to. So I sent him a email to see if he could handle a vintage Hanhart other wise I mite have to send it to Germany if I could get in contact with a watchmaker that some Hanhart collectors I know send theirs to he is back logged who knows when I would get it back. Well Craig the watchmaker got back to me and said he could check it out he worked on a few before. Well the minute recorder post was broken that's like a gear plus the jewel was cracked on the chrono bridge that holds it in place well these parts are rare as hens teeth and he found them not cheap all most doubled the price of the service. He cleaned and oiled it put in a new main spring and fixed the chronograph function and also put super glue under the hour and minute hands to preserve the lume so it don't fall off due to age you all ways see vintage lume missing on other vintage watches thought it was a good idea now she working OK glad to have it back.

Great news Mike but do we have a rule here to not ID good watchmakers? It should be a reference sticky.
only accurate watches are interesting

A good write up on some of the custom watches Craig has put together over the years.

The nice thing is he'll reserve a slot for you and then tell you when he's ready for the watch. That way you don't have to ship the watch out until he's ready for it.andrema wrote:He's got a pretty long wait list though...toxicavenger wrote:http://www.chronodeco.com/logan2z wrote:Craig Bergsma at Chronodeco.Jeep99dad wrote:Awesome!! I contacted him around early January and said he could do it in February and he would contact me when to ship it do I want on the list. I said go ahead I had some bills any way so when the repair bill came it did not hurt. It will be done 1 to 2 weeks depending if he needs to look for rare parts mine was 2 weeks due to parts. If no parts needed about 1 week turn around after he receives the watch. It seems shorter since you don't send the watch right away.logan2z wrote:The nice thing is he'll reserve a slot for you and then tell you when he's ready for the watch. I like that way of doing busy honestly. Instead of waiting 3 years from someone like DR. Seiko to get his head out of his ass to actually do the work.River Rat wrote:I contacted him around early January and said he could do it in February and he would contact me when to ship it do I want on the list. How's your vintage time keeping it's been 13 days been wearing this Hanhart ever since and it's about 20 seconds fast not bad for a 60 year old watch.
