Scubapro In da House

Post by mellonb1 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 8:13 am

Recently picked up this black dial Scubapro 500. Seller received it from his father-in-law. Watch had been sitting in his safe over the past several years. Although not perfect, it's in great condition. Love'n them Scooby's

congrats, Brian! awesome looking example and kicks butt on that canvas

so was it Nivada Grenchen who was making these? certainly weren't made by Scubapro...

Thanks Peter. It remains a mystery as to who made the watches for Scubapro. Could have been Nivada

Very nice!
Forgive my ignorance... Scubapro was a brand, and Seiko picked up the name and used it as a 6309 model?

Scubapro was (and still is I believe) a diving equipment manufacturer. Their name appeared on the dial of several different brands over the years, and the watches were sold through catalogs as well as retailers. The iconic Scubapro 500 was manufactured from the late 1970s to mid '80s, if I'm not mistaken.
