Post by Knome » Mon Jan 12, 2015 2:10 pm

Just saw this posted on classicwatchNY:

I'm amazed every time I see a NOS vintage watch, this one is no exception. Just for shits n giggles I decided to find out the price on this one...

$16,500

not giggling.

Nice, but I wouldn't buy it. Would you ever wear it?

I downloaded all of the pictures so I know what to compare it to when I shop for 5513. So thats what the lugs are supposed to look like!

Wow it's beautiful, but if you wear it much of the value is lost so it's a catch 22, you'd love to wear it but you devalue it

That's way too nice for me. I actually like wearing my watches, not storing them in a safety deposit box.

This. Every now and then, a NOS 16600 pops up for something like $8,000 or $9,000. While the idea is appealing, I can't justify buying a watch that would lose $3,000 to $4,000 in value as soon as I wore it.

I would wear it! Watches are meant to be worn...

scratches on the back of the lugs from removing the bracelet. That should knock off at least 3k from the asking price

As with any "NOS" vintage Rolex I've seen, it's not actually NOS. It still appears to be in superb condition.
