Just back from the watchmaker
Just back from the watchmaker
Just picked up these two from getting serviced. The Doxa had a service and the crystal replaced these Doxa had a 4mm thick crystal they only have 3mm thick crstals today so my watchmaker had to glue two together to get a crystal to be like the original and the case and bracelet touched up a little. The Benrus had a service and the crown replaced the crown was chromed so it was bead blasted to match the case.

Nice work, Mike. It's great to see these restorations done the right way. The bead blasting looks perfect. Enjoy!

Looks brand new!
Re: Just back from the watchmaker
Well had a little problem with the crystal on the Doxa were it got a bubble between the two crystals glued together he used a two part epoxy. So I took it back I got some glue made to glue glass and clear and dries in 15 seconds and is water proof for the watchmaker to try.Well we were talking about the Benrus when I droped off the Doxa.I ask about the water test on it he was very surprized on how robust the case was on it.He said the compressor would shut off at the max and on some new dive watches don't do that.
Dam this watch is still good for diving.

Nice looking vintage watches, Mike.
One day I'm going to have to give a Benrus like that a run. Dig that style.
