can you take this into the water? of course, you can. but the watch really doesn't have anything appealing to the eye. maybe this is the best of the watches you sell, but that's about it.
again, my opinion only...if you and your DWC friends like it, then that's all that really counts.

I sure hope Graeme has been keeping up so he has the context for this from the other thread.

Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
Love the new design and size. My only unsolicited comment echo's others....... the lugs need to taper and/or be chamfered to match the case and bracelet. The taper on the bracelet and case sides is just so graceful. As is it is a winner. Nicely done!
Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
Not much time to review specs right now but love how it looks minus sharp edges on the lugs.

With this case design, 42mm will probably still wear large and too close to your 44mm offering. If elegance and refined design is what you are after, why not 40mm with 46mm L2L?
This was my first thought, the lugs ( and end links) seem to squared off for my tastes.

Wow thanks guys, a lot to take in.
I knew the hands might be a sticky point but OK there is very little love for them so I will change them.
Also you may have missed it in my opening post, there will be a 22mm version of our rubber strap to go with this watch, so you get both metal and rubber.
This shows a hand set similar to the SEA-01 and on a 22mm rubber strap.

That's much better. I'll take one in DLC.

Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
Regarding the lugs.
I am reluctant to change the lugs for a few reasons.
1, I don't want to stray to far away from the SEA-01 case.
2, To add a taper to match the BOR links, doesn't really work. I have drawn a few samples to show you.
This one shows the taper viewed from the top,.....
This one shows the side, you can see that the screwbars don't sit flush with the side of the lug (my OCD is going into hyperdrive)
And on this one with the rubber strap you can see the lugs don't give the feel of the SAS case.

Much better - I'll take a brushed one. See- only 98 to go!

Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
I think the best fix for the lugs is to loose the taper on the bracelet.

Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
There was also a mention of softening the edges on the lugs.
I am not sold on this. On the edge of the lug it's not bad but where it meets the case it just doesn't work.
This will explain..

I'm fine with miyota. It's a great movmt for the money. Slap one in, change the hands to what you just did, shut up, and take my money!
Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
I agree with Chris and would never mount the bracelet...skip it. And FWIW I'd prefer no date

Save the bracelet development budget. These are strap watches. Make mine a no date DLC.

Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
I understand you guys don't wear the bracelet but I didn't make one for the AIR watch and got lots of emails looking for one, or trying to make the SEA-01 bracelet fit.
Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
Love the 42MM case...I like the bracelet option and the smooth rubber...
Only other issue was the hands and looks like you made that change..
I'd prefer Soprod or 2824 but I get the point there..
Congrats--nice work
p.s. thanks for asking for our opinion

No date FTW! I'll buy one.Graeme wrote:A no date version could be a possibility?
Save the expense and time of a bracelet and just offer on rubber, with Miyota.
Re: New design, thoughts and opinions...
The Mileata doesn't even have spring bars. Who needs a bracelet?

I'm just saying that some times simpler is better. I would imagine that a bracelet adds quite a bit to the production cost. Is it worth it?Graeme wrote:Don't follow...CGSshorty wrote:The Mileata doesn't even have spring bars. Who needs a bracelet?
