Fleet Air Arm Museum

Post by stonehead887 » Fri Feb 21, 2020 10:05 am

Hi guys,
Another post for aviation fans. More in the series of great days out with my dad, he will be 80 in a few months.
Today we went to Fleet Air Arm Museum and it was bloody amazing! Best exhibition was the simulated flight deck of an aircraft carrier. Part of it was actual Island from the old Ark Royal, they brought it in in pieces and reassembled it.
The biggest surprise though was the actual aircraft from the picture I posted in yesterday's post about the old Colerne museum. So 47 years later, Dad was reunited with it, totally unexpected but awesome.
Loads of great aircraft and exhibits and well worth the £17 entry.
Enjoy the pics

I love that stuff. I’ll have to revisit the Intrepid Museum in NYC. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the pics; never been there, so will have to make the effort to do so this year.

You should check out Cradle of Aviation at Mitchell Field.

Thanks, I haven’t been there in years but I’ll have to take the grandson.
