Leather therapy...

Post by JDC222 » Fri Dec 14, 2018 3:27 pm

...Ed’s ears perked up for sure!

I’m no expert by any means but I’m making a few old school key folds for some VW Club buddies.

There’s something very relaxing (for me) about working with leather, or maybe it’s just the whisky lol

Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

Looks great.

Currently working on a VW project for my two very close VW pals. Hope it comes through but it's certainly not as cool as this.

These folds remind me of my grandfather along with his old squeeze rubber coin purse (Ed's ears perked-up again!).

Can you provide a shopping list for the hardware and brief instructions? Using just a punch? I might need to give this a try over the Christmas break. Looks like a great little project.

Is there an odor when you cut leather with the laser?

oh yeah. smells like you're getting your teeth drilled. important to make sure the vent path is clear and unobstructed so that all gets blown outside.

Very cool Dave. I’m usually drinking whiskey while working on leather projects. And even if I’m not, it is still very relaxing. It’s a great hobby to get in to.

That explains it. I think mine came from a great uncle’s barn collection.
