Butterfly / Hummingbird Garden project

Post by rockmastermike » Sun Jul 15, 2018 12:16 pm

Backyard project the last couple of weekends.....pretty easy (if you don't mind carrying cow manure and top soil to the back yard)

Boxes are precut and easy to fit together - we started out with just 2 and then added a 3rd and a water feature

Not shown but down the fence we have quite a few rose bushes that the butterfly garden sort of blends into and the to the left of the garden are 6 or 7 bird feeders and bird houses - really nice to have a cup of coffee in the mornings on the back porch

Next Steps: add more plants, start a compost area and a rain water collection area

Cool! While we don't have a butterfly garden I've had two hummingbird feeders hung from our deck for about 10 years and have had several return year after year. They are cool little bird's to watch, especially after they are done breeding. They get very active later in the summer and territorial of the feeders then.
