Friend is really into vintage Persol glasses so I tried on a few pair and really liked the look.

So I've been looking for online dealers for the PO3050v 95 in 53-18-140 (without lenses) so that my local doc and throw in some prescription distance lenses.

Problem is the prices seem to vary for $105 to near $200 which leads me to think they're fakes from the cheaper guys. Am I wrong?

Where can I go online to find these glasses and get that warm & fuzzy I'm not getting burned out counterfeit frames?

Personally I only buy sunglasses from AD's or direct from the manufacturer anymore. There are way too many quality fakes out there. Avoid eBay like the plague, regardless of feedback. I've been burned twice there and learned my lesson.

So why the huge price differences?

The PO3048S offered by sunglasshut are $190 more.

No idea, but I don't think those shops sell fakes...?! I know that sunglasses and Rx glasses have a massive mark up...

Do they only do polarized lenses like Maui Jim? I've wanted to try Persols for a long time, but that's a bummer if that's the only option. I used to wear polarized sunglasses all the time and then out of nowhere started getting wicked headaches. I thought it was the lens coating wearing off so tried new lenses. I've had Oakley, Ray Ban, Maui Jim, and Randolph polarized lenses. Went to standard lenses and the problem went away. I'm not sure why I became sensitive to polarized lenses but it didn't used to be that way.

I know that Persol makes a non-polarized lens but I don't know if its available for all of their frame styles...

If they're authentic then I may buy another from the seller as what my local AD quoted me was double.
