Are Timberlands still cool?

Post by Torrid » Wed Feb 15, 2017 3:31 pm

I haven't had a pair of them in years but needed a pair of steel toed boots for my new job. Went in with the intention of buying Carolinas(never had a pair) and was surprised when I tried them on. Style wise they are a bit more aggressive but the soles on the Carolinas they had were way too soft and I'd end up wearing them down faster like my Thorogoods. The Timberland Pro sole is TPU.

Only cool if you wear them with Daisy Dukes.

These are popular with the younger crowd...

That was my experience with the cheaper ones. I'm hoping the Pros are still better like they used to be.

My step-son wears those. Of course they are untied and the tongue hangs out. The "boys" call them "butta's" :puke:

My 15-year-old nephew wears the classics. He's big into sneakers, too, particularly vintage Jordans and reissues. So, I'd say at least the classic Timberlands are still cool.

To my surprise, he's gotten into watches. He has a Movado that his mother gave him for his birthday and a military-style Orsa that my father gave him. So, watches are still cool, too.

I always have a pair of the classics on the shoe rack; look good with jeans and chinos during winter, and yeah, first pair was when I was "young" but I keep replacing them as they wear out.
