Pays to save power cables from old equipment

Kept a couple from old printers. Bought a new Canon which didn't include the cord and old was a match.

Yesterday. Kettle cord went. Had a spare printer cord downstairs which was exactly the same design as the kettles.

I'm now out, so hoping nothing else goes

I always keep them. Most TVs and Blu-ray players use similar cords.

I got caught short and Amazon had them, only a couple bucks.

Glad I'm not the only one that hordes power cables (and data cables). :shifty:

I horde cords also. If I don't have one then I order them from monoprice.

As long as the printer cord has as much insulation and wire weight as your kettle cord. Undersized wire will get really hot.

i have a bin of wall warts, too. most of which i have no idea where they came from. i've started using a labeler now any time i buy something that has a wall wart.
