Never tried it. I'd try a clay bar before I'd resort to steel wool as there's no risk of damaging the glass.

Is it water spots? Meguiar's makes a good water spot remover you can use on glass.

Go over it with a razor blade first and then clay bar it. Steel wool works but you can over do it.

It's a special "clay" meant for lifting contaminants from your paint. It's more like taffy than clay in consistency.mattcantwin wrote:Clay bar...like modeling clay?
Is your windshield scratched? Cerium oxide will remove fine scratches from glass.

I'd say no - it'll fuck it up, otherwise I'll look forward to the mattcantcleanawindshield thread.

Get a bug scrub pad. If that doesn't work then it's not worth worrying about. If you're still flustered then buy a bicycle.

Not scratched, just doesn't seem to clean well.Selym wrote:It's a special "clay" meant for lifting contaminants from your paint. It's more like taffy than clay in consistency.mattcantwin wrote:Clay bar...like modeling clay?

Careful scraping followed by a clay bar should work well.mattcantwin wrote:

The razor is your best solution, but make a soapy mixture with Dawn and water to keep the glass well lubricated to avoid scratches.
