I used to wear khakis often, usually with an out-shirt to conceal my pistol. I just checked my closet and found 15 pairs. Time for make a bag for the Goodwill center.

The unofficial "uniform" for State Police taking classes at Quantico is tan khakis and red polo shirts. I think it is "casual cop" attire....Captdave wrote:Or a plain clothes cophoppyjr wrote:.....or a Boeing engineer around these parts. Re: How to Dress
When 5.11 cargo pants first came out, I wore them all the time. Now that they scream "cop!" I never wear them.
Regarding the article; I haven't bought a suit since about 2010, so all mine are "traditional style" and not the skinny suits (which would look silly on my XXL body anyway). I do have both pleats and cuffs on my suit pants, as that is how they came.

I actually don't like pockets on shirts, though all my shirts seem to have them. They're always too large and oddly placed.

Every time that I wear a shirt without a pocket, I feel that I need to put a tuxedo on.

Re: How to Dress
If you don't take your jacket off, which I essentially never do (when I'm wearing a suit, I'm standing up teaching, or talking at a conference), it's really not a huge deal.
When I had a real job, a shirt pocket was a good place to keep my security card though.

Re: How to Dress
I'll have to agree with the no pockets on dress shirts. I feel like I should have a pocket protector and some pens in there if there's a pocket.

The article was an interesting/amusing read but doesn't apply to me much. I either wear whatever jeans are clean and a shirt with buttons, or these wonderful flame retardant pajamas.

^^ Boots required. Cotton clothing underneath recommended, but some guys go commando when it's hot.

The starch keeps the pocket down and hides hard one of your hard nipples.Chocodove wrote:I'll have to agree with the no pockets on dress shirts. I feel like I should have a pocket protector and some pens in there if there's a pocket.
Re: How to Dress
I also go sans starch. It irritates my sensitive skin. Plus in my office a little nipple goes a long way sometimes.andrema wrote:The starch keeps the pocket down and hides hard one of your hard nipples.Chocodove wrote:I'll have to agree with the no pockets on dress shirts. Not even going to waste my time reading this asshole's drivel. He's either a raging homosexual, or a sociopath. Based on the responses, I'd guess the latter.

Ghey. Dress shirts with a pocket are an absolute requirement for me. No pocket protector.Chocodove wrote:I'll have to agree with the no pockets on dress shirts. I feel like I should have a pocket protector and some pens in there if there's a pocket.

Why does it have to be one or the other? I think you're selling the guy short.

Why do people care so much about how other people dress?
I wear blue PJ's and Brooke's running shoes to work everyday. Thank the lord.
