Incoming...More White's

...because you can never have too many boots! I was actually saving up for a pair of Nick's when my size came up on White's ebay account.







These are 8" Farmer Rancher in brown leather, no liner, no celastic toe, and of course the "funny heel". I'm on day 2, so still feel like a pair of ski boots. I'll get some non-blurry-cell phone pics up later.

Joining the family, less one. Turn's out the lined semi-dress in thick lined leather is not for me. Love the style and last, it's just too short too support the weight IMO. Selling those on ebay.

I agree, why do they taper inwards? Not to be a dick, but they mimick women heeled shoes/boots.

The brand is mainly known in the logging / fire industry circle - a traditional logger boot. I'm not sure when, but they started offering custom make-ups of their smoke jumper and then the semi-dress boot. You can customize them, a lot of leathers are offered. Nick's was started by some guy who used to for White's and for whatever reason left to start his own thing.

For me the main reason I like Whites:
- The Arch-ease system - I'm flat footed with club feet, so the arch ease system is like an orthotic right out of the box.
- The design - the cowboy / cuban heel despite being "girly", really is great when walking - you have more of a natural gait despite the big clunky boot style.
- Customization - the choice of leathers, height, toe cap, lined, etc is great - a custom build.[/list]

I walk quite a bit to and from the office, and my feet never hurt like when I wear something like AE, Alden's, etc.

These make boots like RW Beckman's, Wolverine 1k feel like slippers...

Indirectly more comfortable. You don't have to pick the heel up like with big block heels like Timberlands, so a more natural gait.

^^^That. Both White's and Nick's are *excellent* products. And each within a 5-mile drive for me.
