Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

Reads like its a joke, I guess because it sounds very Star Trek.

Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
This "project" is the problem with Kickstarter in a nutshell. It is a big snake oil sales money grab. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this project doesn't deliver.... And it probably won't...... These guys can take the $3.9 million and retire on an island, correct? Kickstarter looks the other way as they get a cut of the money.

Won't do light or grey hair? I'd have patches of uncut grey all over my face.

Too bad there is no other way of shaving?
Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
I saw something on that recently. According to their statements they have solved the light/gray hair problem. If the $159 price holds up they'll have a winner.
I could only get through half the video because the guy speaking was so boring as to be painful to listen to.

Choice between a safety razor (proven tech) and a frickin laser next to my face ... hmmm, which to choose

But judging by the size this highly effective laser looks to operate on single AAA size battery.jeckyll wrote:Choice between a safety razor (proven tech) and a frickin laser next to my face ... hmmm, which to choose

So, you're saying I can't use it to shoot down ICBMs, should the need arise?dnslater wrote:But judging by the size this highly effective laser looks to operate on single AAA size battery.jeckyll wrote:Choice between a safety razor (proven tech) and a frickin laser next to my face ... hmmm, which to choose

I am reading that if a project reaches its "goal amount", the backers are guaranteed the product offered.
If a project does not meet its goal amount, backers get their money refunded.

It's a pledge until the goal is reached. If the goal isn't reached no monies are forwarded. When a project reaches its goal credit cards are charged.JDC222 wrote:I am reading that if a project reaches its "goal amount", the backers are guaranteed the product offered.

Im not sure what happens if a goal is reached and the project doesn't materialize.
EDIT: it's a promise by the creators to complete the project. So it's possible as Nick says that the creators can abscond with the money. It's not like it goes into escrow.

Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
For instance, if in this case they use the older laser which only cuts black/dark hair and not grey hair, you are not entitled to a refund by the company or by Kickstarter. If the project is delayed by 6 months to September 2016, again there is no way you can back out or get your money back.
Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
That example was outright fraud. The potential has always existed.

Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
With a little tweaking I could create a monster laser beam, powerful enough to extinguish an entire city.

Kickstarter has taken it down, but the company has now listed it on another crowd funding site - indigogo (or something like that)

Wonder if this means they aren't being funded?Heuerville wrote:Kickstarter has taken it down, but the company has now listed it on another crowd funding site - indigogo (or something like that)

I presume Kickstarter backers got an automatic refund.dnslater wrote:Wonder if this means they aren't being funded?Heuerville wrote:Kickstarter has taken it down, but the company has now listed it on another crowd funding site - indigogo (or something like that)

There's a sucker born every minute. Sometimes they are even born again.
I like the idea but will wait until there is evidence it works.

Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
The fact that hours after they got booted from Kickstarter they were already set up ok indegoggo means they had that backup plan in place knowing they might get pulled from KS. Total scam here.
Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
i can't believe kickstarter didn't think this was proof of a working prototype. shouldn't take more than 8-9 hours to get a complete shave with this.
Re: Laser razor for men - Kickstarter
My thoughts exactly. The description made it sound like the only hiccup was light colored hair. The video showed otherwise. I could remove hair with tweezers fastergwells wrote:i can't believe kickstarter didn't think this was proof of a working prototype. shouldn't take more than 8-9 hours to get a complete shave with this.
