Found a grail razor today. 1948-1950 Gilette Super Speed. Really nice condition.

I remember having something like this that I pretended to shave with when I was a little kid early 70's, sans blade of course.

I like that, I saw one at a local auction house that I need to go by and check up on again.

How does it cut on the face? Is it aggressive or a slow cut?

It was pleasant. I use a merkur which has been great but a little agro. It's less aggressive.

that is how the Gilette repo was that I gave away. I really like my merkur though. maybe I will see if I can find one this weekend. ;)

i should hit some estate sales and see if i can find an old school safety razor. i like my merkur, too, but i'm willing to try things.
