Brands / shirts, shoes, trousers

Post by poppydog » Sat May 30, 2015 3:55 am

Is it a bit weird to ask about this? As I've got older, I seem to have really narrowed the sort of things I wear. I've just bought a new pair of chinos and a t-shirt from Sunspel - a bit expensive, but I've yet to find another brand that uses such high-quality cotton (at least to my touch!). As I was putting them away, it occurred to me that the main brands I wear are Sunspel and R M Williams for trousers and jeans; Gant, R M Williams and Ted Baker shirts, and Loake and R M Williams shoes / boots. I don't need to wear a suit very often, so have a couple, a Jaeger and Magee.

What about you guys? Stick to particular brands for work / off duty?

Like I said, if this is a bit weird (girly) slam away
Regards

Steve

Unfortunately have to wear a suit to work every day...So basically, Brooks Brothers and Jos A Banks for suits, shirts, ties...Allen Edmonds for shoes... Lucky and J Crew for jeans, khakis...Under Armour for gym stuff...

Now that I am retired, my wardrobe is pretty similar to my 7 year old. Lots of camo shorts and surf company t shirts.

Well for work, I just wear scrubs.

Not sure if I have a theme in my wardrobe, but seems like a lot of Patagonia, Levi's, Filson, Olaki...and T shirts that make my kids laugh like muppets and minions :fro:

For work I get a lot of Charles Thyrwitt (sp?) dress shirts, which are a great deal when they do the package deals for 4 for $160 or so. They're not worth the full price, though.

Also a big fan of Uniqlo for basics, nice quality for the price and not trendy. J.Crew and t-shirts for casual.

I am a denim snob, however...

Haggar pants/Docker shirts/Rossi boots for work. For chilling it is Wrangler Jeans/Vans (checkers usually) slides or flipflops/random t-shirts. Oh and Kaenon's every time I go outside

Haha...I'm a mess. Cargo shorts of various brands, tommy bahama shirts, flips (one of my 45 pairs of either Olukai or Chaco), Hinano Tahiti t-shirts due to a warehouse sale where I picked up about 50 of 'em, and Orvis or Filson flannels/long sleaves. Suits and sport coats are mostly hickey freeman.

Unless I need to wear a suit that day (and in the new firm I seldom have to), docker pants and shirts from JCPenney/Macy's (Stafford, Van Heusen, etc.). I've been planning on trying Brooks Brothers and Jos A Banks for suits and shirts... but have been throwing money to watches, bicycles and guns

On the weekend? Jeans from Gap/Banana Republic, polo shirts from Polo/Nautica/5.11... and shorts from dockers or 5.11. Oh and button down, short sleeve shirts from whatever brand I like (remember, I live in the Caribbean).

Gym clothes? Whatever I find on Marshalls on sale (Nike/Adidas/Underarmor).

I've also wanted to try better shoes for work... usually wear Bostonian or Florsheim shoes and have to replace them almost yearly.

I used to be a Levi guy but a buddy that's way more stylish than I turned me onto Lee "Modern" collection Jeans of all things. Man I love them. Look great and super comfortable. Way more than any jeans I've ever owned. I usually buy the Darko or Cobra variations/colors. I wear them with a blazer/jacket a lot . Who knew Lee jeans of all brands, never gave them a look in the past.

Dress: Di Bianco shoes, Hideoki trousers, shirts and suit.

Casual: Vans shoes, surf shirts, lululemon (don't laugh. Their shorts and gym clothes are the best).

"Way stylish"...who did know? Lee is having a sale on their "modern" curvy hip and ass, stretchy fabric, models. They are under $30, stock up.

Option 1 is Levi jeans and no specific brand of shirts. I pick them up as I go. I need to buy better quality shirts, though. Brice's pics make my shirt cuffs ashamed.
Option 2 is Carhartt flame resistant jeans / long-sleeve polos. Tools of the trade in refining business.
