Surprise!

Post by mattcantwin » Sun Mar 29, 2015 9:14 am

My wife and I got home early this morning (about 1:30am) from a week of babysitting our granddaughter in Florida.

We had a great time with Devon and enjoyed a break from the never-ending winter.

Soon after we got home from the airport, my son asked us to come out to the backyard to "see something".

We had no idea what he could possibly want to show us.

It was quite the surprise!

A chicken coop, with chickens!

Pretty cool, since my wife has wanted chickens (and goats) for the longest time.

Looks like we'll be eating eggs more often.

Nice. You can tell your wife you were able to buy watches by selling eggs.

Yes. The chickens will distract her from FedEx boxes and prevent this from happening.

Far out, Matt. Really cool. Let me know when you're ready to eat one of the laying hens. I'll come out and do the rest!

Matt you have decide at sometime what to do with them when they stop producing. You can harvest them yourself but some people don't have what it takes to do that.

Chicken run https://saltboxdesigns.wordpress.com/pr ... cken-runs/

It wouldn't hurt also to see if you have a homestead store somewhere around you or a feed store that sells good chicken feed. You won't believe how many of the sell junk.

Wtf, I thought it was a kid clubhouse when I saw the pic.

There's a guy at work who keeps chickens. The ones that lay blue eggs. Ameraucanas chickens.
