I break shoe laces all the time on my Allen Edmonds shoes/boots. I tend to buy Allen Edmonds laces because they are cheap and come in good colors. I keep a couple of pairs at work and in my attache just incase.

That Benjos code is a great deal. They are always out of the laces I want most, though.
Also, don't forget that Red Wing will send you laces free just for asking.

There you go. The only lace-up boots I have are expedition Asolo and Fabiano. Except I haven't used those in well over a decade. I've worn Le Chameau leather lined rubber boots on every hunt I've been on since the late '90s. Waterproof, warm and have great support.

I prefer boots with laces. I used to only wear Chelsea style boots, but switched a few years ago. I've never tried cowboy boots, but I can't imagine liking something that tall.

They're very comfortable Chris. Once you break them in which really isn't any different than any other boot. I still prefer laces but the hooks compared to the eyelets are 1000x more convenient. I don't know why more companies do this.

I wish my Beckmans had hooks. I may have them put on by a cobbler.

That's another thing. If you find a good cobbler, keep him around. Hard to find a good one without going back to the factory (if they even allow it).

I just found a local guy who I might give a try. I want a full Vibram sole on my black Beckmans.

Good luck. I hope you get them done well.

I think you have to wear cowboy boots as a kid. Then you're used to them for life.
