I've been doing standard Criss Cross lacing. I think I'll give Over-Under a try.

BTW, on the TP issue, we don't have to worry about it now. We installed slightly unorthodox TP holders in the renovation.

Same here. I just tried over-under on my 1000 Miles and it takes a little getting used to when tightening the laces. Also, you have to count eyelets to determine whether to start with "over" or "under" so you'll end up with "under" at the top.
