This is after I scrubbed all the grass stains on shit off of them with a scratch pad and then coated them down with some saddle soap. I was going to rub them down with some kiwi first but I wanted the vintage/beat the hell look to them.

My Chippewas fit me just like Red Wings. Full size down for me.

Thanks, they are getting broke down pretty hard so I might have to regulate them to yard duty. But my Rossi boots had a air pocket break in them so they squeak when you walk. :crybaby:

Badass shoe/boot link thread

Post by HapaHapa » Sat Apr 18, 2015 3:30 pm

I'm looking for a good pull-on boot, mid height something like Rossi Boulder or Blundstone 500 series. Remove able insert so I can use my own with high arch (WalkingCompany). Also able to be resoled.
Suggestions?
Does this rule out anything polyurethane or Vibram sole?
Sorry, I don't know shit beyond my Redwing steel toes.

How about a good pair of Wellingtons? Don't laugh...I spent all day at an incredibly muddy music festival today, and I would have paid good money to have a pair on my feet.

Too tall. Would prefer leather. I'd like something kind of short that's ok to wear in the office or outside.

They're extremely popular with the well dressed young ladies on campus. A dress Wellington would be something entirely different though.

You can't resole most Blundies or Rossi, they both have a few select models that you can and that is all. The Blundies are made in China and the soles on two pairs I have own came apart right away. So I only buy Rossi's now. But I take the insert out of my Rossi's and put in Superfeet, so I am sure your inserts will work also.

The Rossi's I have also have a air sole on the bottom of them, super comfortable and longevity wise they have been great. I bought my last pair at the same time I bought my Chippewa's with a Vibram sole and the Vibrams have more wear and aren't as comfy.

If you have any questions then send me a pm.

Am I the only one here with a pair of L.L. Bean duck boots? They look good, mud and water proof, and they can be resoled. I have two pair and one of them is almost thirty years old.

I love mine. They're made in the USA and come in multiple widths too.

I had them when I lived on the East Coast but we don't get that kind of weather to wear them here.

These are great. Going to weigh these against the Rossi.
I had a pair of LLBean many years ago. The inside seam chewed at my ankles, but they are probably better designed now. Thanks guys!

Finally got tired of waiting for a deal and picked up some 8113s. IRs are my favorite RW I think, with respect to both style and comfort, so a second color/finish was in order.

I wear the regular ones in Spring and the shearling version in the Winter.
