Anyone own a pair of Redwing 6" Ice Cutters?.. Perfect for the winter we are having
in Mass.... Want a pair of black boots not sure I want to spend $390...

Thoughts?

Thanks
Mike

They look great Mike, but I have concerns they would be too warm for my needs. Unless you spend all day out in the cold weather I think k they are overkill. I wear a pair of Columbia snow boots when I am out in the snow and I just use warmer socks with my Beckmans the rest of the time.

I like those Ice Cutters. Finally available in the US. They are pricey, though.

Good point Chris... I walk about 10-15 minutes in snow and slush sometimes from the train station to the office so that's why I was thinking ice cutter...I don't think I will spend $390 though.. Thanks..

RW stopped the online discounts-they aren't eligible any longer at shoebuy.

Another sweet black pair Mike-not as rugged looking or insulated but killer boots nonetheless:

North of $400 though :shifty:

I picked up a pair of RW 1178's a few months back. meant to post em up but completely forgot. I was concerned about fit when I first got them, but the more I wear them, the better they fit. Very much true to size. I got them to wear mainly for farm work when I am back in western Kentucky, but they've turned in an almost daily wear boot after work and on weekends. I hit them with some Obenauf's when they landed. I'll get a pic up soon. For now, here's a stock pic:

^^^ Pecos boots? Love those-I think TR wears those too. The sole is indestructible.

Yes, sir. And yeah, Tom and I spoke at length about these. I think his is the rubber soled version. I was concerned when I first got them about fit, as the 11 1/2 was too big and an 11 W was way too wide. I wear 11 D in most other shoes, especially dress shoes - same as Tom. He convinced me I had the right size. After continued use, they just keep getting better. Great pair of boots!

I've been wearing the Pecos for a long time. Supremely comfortable. Only problem is that my big toe can touch the dirt in the current pair.

I could easily roll with Trench Boots everyday. I have a rotation of Indys, RW Iron Rangers, 1000 milers, and 1 pair of Trench boots-I go back and forth between the Indys and Trench boots as to whats my favorite comfort wise-and I give the edge aethsetically to the Trench boots.

Some of these mofos might pay well more than that for a nice pocket knife too.

I still wear the hell out of mine. But duty in Iraq has worn them in to much so I might have to get a pair this year.

This is after I scrubbed all the grass stains on shit off of them with a scratch pad and then coated them down with some saddle soap. I was going to rub them down with some kiwi first but I wanted the vintage/beat the hell look to them.
