Wow Zack. Those are pretty far out there. Just be confident in your masculinity and everything will be OK. And don't kick your dog.

I've just bagged myself a pair of Ellesse Zeus. They're a cross-over of desert boots and sneakers.
First impressions...they're light as a feather. I have wide feet, and they are very tight on the width out of the box, but after a few hours, they are easily moulding to my feet - and I'm really warming to them. My advice.. buy a 1/2 size smaller than you would. I'm a size UK 10, but bought Uk9.5 - perfect fit.

They seem to be very hard to find in UK/Europe, I don't know why!

Badass shoe/boot link thread

I've been wearing the Hanwag Alaska GTX at work, for the past year....love them but I opted for the non-Gortex, leather lined boot.

I have always used Gortex lined boots but after talking to the staff at Valhalla, I decided to try the leather lined version. They are lighter and already very water resistant, so with proper care (Nikwax), I’m not worried about getting wet feet. I don’t have any foot problems, like sweaty feet or blisters so...The HanWag is an incredibly comfortable, all day boot for me.

I didn’t realize they made boots. Same quality as the bags?

I’m debating on buying a pair after the new year. Reading on their site they have a great scar warranty on them. It’s between these and a pair of Danner Jag boots.

Hoping the boots are as good as the rest of the line. I’ve been impressed with their company over the years. I’m interested in how they will wear. Seems a couple of people say the leather wears quickly.

Did one of their challenges years ago and bought the GR1 which I’ve abused and it’s been great of course. Recently bought the long sleeve challenge shirt (wearing at the moment) and challenge pants and love them - light but high quality. Note of caution - they run a little small. The shirt is supposed to be a little tight but it’s bordering on unacceptable in public.

Cool.

Good boots are worth their weight in gold. I'm assuming that you wear them on the bike too.

Interesting, I've been thinking of picking up a pair of boots I can ride in but also walk abunch after. My Sidi Adventure Gortex are about the best ADV boots out there, but not good for longer walks :)

Guy I used to work with was using some combat / LEO type boots in rain and to the office etc but I forget the exact model ... But I'll have to check out those Hanwags. The laces look like they extend a bit far down for me, thing they might get caught up in a standard shifter ...

I have gotten away from Goretex boots. Those mofo's make my feet sweat way to much. And sweaty feet is a no go in the cold. I still use my Rossi pull on boots for everything including hiking in the snow. They are not crazy warm since they are straight leather but they keep out most of the cold. So I just use a good wool sock and they work perfectly.

This thread had been going for 6 years and hasn’t turned into that douche type thread, so I think we are safe here.

Due to difficulty in sizing Ref Wings IR’s, Wolverine 1000 Mile and Viberg Service boots due to different size and width feet, I bought some White’s MP Service boots.
