Nice video.

I just recently started learning about well made shoes and purchased my first pair of Allen Edmonds. Learned about how most less expensive shoes I had been buying (Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole) use corrected leather which essentially has a fake finish printed, painted on which makes them age poorly. Definitely worth the investment. The cork footbed make them become more comfortable over time.

AE did a run of cordovan boots for Wolverine that are nice looking-model 744 I think that I've been eyeing up. 2013 will bring a pair of cordovan boots from either AE, Wolverine, or Alden I think.

I don't think I realized how small the shell portion of the hide truly is...

My big bro introduced me to Allen Edmonds a few years ago. He's a huge AE fan boy. He'd wear em with jeans, shorts, anything everyday. Used to make fun of him. Now that I'm a lil older I'm hooked too. Can't wear nothing else either. Well, not with shorts tho. Super comfy.

Hard to shine, too. They come looking highly polished out of the box, but the shine fades quickly and it's just about impossible to replicate.

Dad always says you spend half your life on your feet and the other half in bed so get a good pir of shoes and a good mattress

I think I know why by back hurts - I have cheap shoes (but a decent mattress) hell I've never tried on a pair of AE, but will do so now

anyway - I love seeing these types of videos, it helps me appreciate what goes into well made products.
