Dr. Martens Franco, anyone have them?

Post by tattoo chef » Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:37 pm

In the market for a new pair of boots.
I usually wear a lot of tactical style boots like Magnums or SWAT etc, but like the look of these alot, especially the distressed leather.
Just wondering if anyone has a pair.

I used to wear Docs a while ago-when they were all made in England and an excellent all around boot. I stll have a couple pair I don't really wear anymore. I wore a black pair when I was in the Service and they lasted forever with comfort. They've since moved just about everything to China and the quality is nowhere near where they were. Probably still a decent boot but no longer Docs IMO.

Yeah, I know they are made in China now, been since 2003, after the company almost went bankrupt.
There is one factory in England producing 50 pairs a day of shoes and these are ones from the vintage line only.

Still looks like a good boot. I'll be ordering from amazon, if I don't like em or think they are up to par ill just send them back.

$160 seems to be the price everywhere.
When I buy ill try and find a site where there's a coupon code. But if not, they look worth it.

And no high heels, ill have my shoemaker add in the lifts... Lol

Had a pair of Dc M chelsea years and they were the best ever. They lasted almost 10 of major abuse.

Got a new pair two years ago, ordered them from UK figured it was better... wrong.
Decent but no more. I'm still looking for a good replacement. Might go with a pair of Blundstone

my next one maybe

don't get Blundie's they are made overseas now. check out Rossi's which are still made in aussieland and they are still the same price. I bought 2 pair of Blundie's from zappos and had to send them both back because the glued on sole's was coming off. :crybaby: but the Rossi's have been great for a while now. http://www.sugarriveroutfitters.com/branded.asp?wgi=56

oh and Doc's have went to shit over the years. I remember in high school they use to give me new shoe strings every time I complained they wore out. but the good thing the boots almost never wore out back then.

Thanks for the offer but the suede was not my 1st choice, I did try because I'm stubborn but I'm kinda afraid they are gonna be a bit big..

Again, a BIG thank you for the offer!
