Good Boot Insole?

Related to the RW thread, does anyone have a recommendation for an insole that make a work boot more comfortable for everyday wear?

It's amazing how they improve the feel of any shoe.

Depending on your arch. I use green. Orange is a new one I've seen now that's supposedly like the green with a little more padding. Haven't tried them yet.

Shap the Runners Shop on Atlantic Ave. In Lynbrook is listed as a Superfeet dealer.

Thanks Chris. I wouldn't have thought of that.

Custom orthotics.

Seriously. I got some after I tore over 1/2 my plantar fascia ligament off. They work wonders and your feet will thank you :)

The Superfeet Copper sound like exactly what I would want in an insert for casual boots.

I use green exclusively. I might try the orange ones out-going to REI and check them out for a pair of incoming La Sportivas.

Nothing beats a set of custom orthotics. Got mine to deal with plantar fasciaitis. Of course, need to remove the standard insole of the shoe in most cases, or go up in size or width.

Short of getting custom orthotics, I agree with the Superfeet blue suggestion. I've been using them for years and they are comfortable/hold up nicely.

I went with the hard shell "dress shoe" insert. I'm wearing them now in my combat boots (Corcoran's) with the standard insole. Works with most shoes, but not athletics :)

For those I actually use the "Sole" moldable insoles. The ones you heat up and then they mold to your foot. Not a cheap option, but the next best thing to custom.

Do DWC members know how to party, or what?

Last time I used those, I think they went by the Sorbothane brand name...

I went to a place called Good Feet which I am sure isn't anything near being on the level of a professional by any means but I feel like they ripped me off. :banghead:

Not fond of good feet either. Great marketing, so so product. They are not really custom fit but they have pre made sizes to fit different feet. Most are too high, the wrong shape and uncomfortable.
The super feet and soft soles brands are a decent off the shelf alternative that will help many people.
The best is a good custom orthotic. Not just molded to the foot but molded to the foot in the position that everything should line up. "Sole supports" offers the best fit, best function and comfort as far as custom soles I have worked with.
