Isn’t this basically a setup for an actual coffee shop?

Or buy an Italian style Moka.
Bialetti is the brand to get.
Costs nothing, is indestructible and makes great coffee
Do they make them in stainless? The one we have (Pantone Universe - not sure who the OEM is) is all aluminum. Coffee tastes fine now that it's seasoned, but it definitely had a metallic tinge early on.
Yes they do, for induction stoves

Whoa! That's super hard core compared to the swill brewers I've always used at work.

In terms of performance, the Mini is 100% a professional machine, just built for a smaller output.
So, assuming you do all the processes the right way, you can have the exact same quality that you’d find in a cafeteria.
I was speaking with our master barista yesterday, and asked him if it would make sense to have one at home.
His take is that unless you really know what you’re doing (having a good grinder and adjusting it almost every day, mostly) the answer is probably no.

@Eric: I work for a very premium coffee company, so it’s kinda normal for our machine setup to be slightly overbuilt. We do bring customers / partners in often so we want to make sure we can offer them top quality stuff.

I am still using my old school Saeco machine from about 20 years ago. I have been looking to upgrade but I know the characteristics of this one so I'm not ready to learn a new one.

Funny our new 7-11 in town just installed a Melitta Cafina CT8. I love it. I never thought I would say that about something at a 7-11.

On my second Delonghi espresso & cappuccino machine. First one lasted 6-7 years with a rebuilt boiler and this Eletta has been going strong for close to 3 years. Best $2k I've spent in a long time. Aside from the overpriced pods, the Starbucks Verismo espresso machine on the right makes one bad ass espresso.

This is my super basic setup. My wife likes espresso longo so we use a bigger cup.

I tamp my grounds but my wife uses a pressurized porta filter.

It works for us.

We have a Keurig K-Cafe Special Edition. Nothing fancy, but works nicely.
