New iPhone battery case

Post by hoppyjr » Mon Jan 21, 2019 5:14 pm

Being one who lives by the “better to have it and not need it” philosophy, I just picked up the new Apple Battery Case for my iPhone Xs.

For those who have used these on their 6/7 series phones, the “hump” is better integrated and the device feels more balanced in my hand.

These new ones also support wireless charging. It does fit the X and Xs. I understand there are also models for Xs+ and Xr.

Quick photos.

I was watching Unbox Therapy’s video on it. It’s a biggun, but looks well made. It’s got to be the best way to extend range without having to carry an extra power bank.

Nice. I use the Mophie battery case on my 8 Plus...

Real question. Does the phone batteries usually not last more than one day? I put new batteries in my wife and daughter's phone and they now get a full day out of them.

What was the price on that Hop? And do Apple stores carry them or are they an order type of a thing.

Wtf can't manufacturers just put a sufficient mAH battery in a phone and tune it in the first place...

I use my phone quite a bit, but I always plug in. I prefer to know that I’m good for longer than I need, so this gives me peace of mind.

Some guys use their phone all day and charge it at night but I’m not that guy. I like keeping it topped off, just as I top off my gas tank at 3/4.

$129 + tax.

Alderwood Apple Store has them in stock, just arrived today so I’d move on it. I believe you can order online and specify “store pickup”.

I agree. Make the damned phone 4mm thicker and give us a 5000-7000 mah battery to start with. This isn’t hard.

I used one on my 7 (I still have it - but not the phone - if anyone wants to buy it) and I really liked it.

Haven’t needed it for my XS Max yet, but it’s nice to know it’s available. I’ll see if I can check one out in person later.

I wish they would make one of these cases for the iPad. My battery lasts about 45 minutes.

Good point! A Smart Battery iPad Case would be ideal, especially if it worked with the Smart Keyboard. Double the life of my iPad and I’m all smiles.
