Any regrets from Cord Cutters?
Re: Any regrets from Cord Cutters?
yeah, we do direct tv now, too. mostly happy with it. my biggest issue is that our regional sports network (MASN) is antiquated douchenozzles, so they have no streaming. that's the only place i cheat. during baseball season, i use MLB app and a VPN to pretend i'm out of network to watch Nationals games. i'd pay MASN something reasonable to stream, but they're one of a handful of MLB regional networks that doesn't do that.
another positive of DTV Now is that they have HBO for $5/mo. cheaper than anyone else.

No regrets.
To be honest I hardly watch TV anymore. I watch maybe 3-4 shows a week. I’m fine with that.
I will admit it was super convenient to have cable. Too convenient where I watched more TV.
I do miss sports but I’ll try something different next football season.

We did it four years ago and no reason to go back.
In retrospect, I’d skip the antenna and the Tablo. Haven’t used this in the past three years.
Most of the streaming services have the local networks now.

Rabbit ears and a DVD player are still the only things that feed my TV...

Maybe this is your problem with your wife ....a streaming service would certainly help not talk to her. Hell, there are enough shows to last you years1954Selmer wrote:Rabbit ears and a DVD player are still the only things that feed my TV...

No Wife... Over two years ago, we finalized our divorce. She kept the house and everything in it. I moved 75 miles away, but volunteered to take care of the pool. Due to the massive trees, I have consistently serviced it every week (filter, chemicals, replaced pumps). During those two years, we have not texted or spoke more than five words. She has held on to the resentment and anger.
About a week ago, something very strange happened... She said good morning and offered me a cup of coffee.
We sat by the pool, drank coffee, and had a nice visit. It was no more/no less than a nice visit.
I've indulged in my fair share of women, but I will never meet another Queen of Egypt...

Re: Any regrets from Cord Cutters?
Was reading this thread I pay close to 100 bucks a month for directv and the Hulu deal for local and other channels for 39.99 are close to what I have for a 100 bucks I do have Hulu for 11 bucks no commercials on demand stuff. The trade off is the local channel deal comes with commercials and you need 50 mbps internet speed the max my service has is 30 mbps and I would have to pay a arm and a leg to up the speed to that. So who has the lowest internet speed that uses Hulu 39.99 deal with local stations that's way under 50 mbps thinks mines 10 mbps ? I called Hulu and got a lot of info the 50 mbps for it to work smooth kind of a bummer. They do have a one week free to try it out to see if my low speed works. For around 70 bucks you get 200 hrs of recording the local channel deal HBO and Cinemax and I don't get HBO or Cinemax for a 100 bucks directv a rip off 75 % of the channels are promo commercials channels no one wants.

Know this is a old thread has any one tried Hulu for local stations ? The price went up a little they do let you try it for free for a month mite try it and if it works OK cut the cord and save fifty bucks a month. Would like to know if Hulu local station work ok if any one here is using it and looks like all the other stuff I get with the dish for half the price.
