A phone for your phone, Palm Companion

It’s not a phone though. You need to sync with your existing phone and it costs $350 and $10 a month.
Talk about a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

So, now that smart phones have gotten to nearly tablet sized devices, I guess the idea is you can leave the big phone in your bag and just have this thing readily accessible in your pocket.

I guess I won't say "never", but personally I struggle with ever seeing the need for one of these things in my life. I don't like "super sized" smart phones to begin with, and my phone syncs with my car and Bluetooth headset for any time I don't want to be holding my phone to my head.

I guess the most shocking thing in the entire video is that Palm is even still around.

I remember having one of these:

and later one of these:

I found my old Handspring the other day while packing up shit at my ex's. In a zippered leather Coach folio made just for the Palm/Handspring

They're not. Someone bought the name. The current company has nothing to do with the original company.

All I need now is the charger.

Reminds me of a guy I saw at Starbucks once using his MacBook, iPhone, and iPad all interchangeably.

That is awesome!

I just remembered I used to have a Palm VII way back when too.

This was one of the first "wireless" web devices available. I remember a buddy downloaded porn on it.
