iPhone X

I always look fwd to seeing apple announcements even though I'm not an iPhone user. Todays around iPhone x was a yawn. Am i missing something? Everything they talked about, my Android pretty well already does. Using your face to unlock the device quickly, yes. Having an edge to edge screen, yes already done. Hmm at a grand, i would want some stuff thats new and different. Were there any new features i missed that are actually not a redo of stuff already done before? I know that innovation cycles can only produce so much more unique feature sets as product categories mature but man Apple used to blow me away with the way you could interact with their devices and the capabilities they could empower users with.

I mean shit, people in the crowd were applauding using your face to unlock the device like it was the frickin moon landing......crazy.

No Jobs. No good.

My next phone probably won't be an iPhone. I can't even get the fuckers to reset my iTunes password.

I hate iTunes that's why I use Android. Very liberating.

Changing an iTunes password is harder than getting a passport. I'm not joking. It's a fucking app sales platform not the GD CIA!

They don't trust you with the keys to the newest Beyonce single.

I'd buy it if it weren't $1K. That's too much for a phone I'll be replacing in 2 years.

Strangely, I bet the poop animoji is going to over-deliver on its price point in my house.

I upgrade my phone every year. I'm not 100% sure I'm going with the X. I've considered going back to Android, but the price is close to a top-of-the-line Android phone. Plus I'm on Mac on both work and home computer systems.

That said, literally everything is cloud for me, so there is mostly zero pain in me switching platforms back and forth.

I am going to preorder one when it's time. I went Blackberry (hahaha)>Android>iOS and for my use I really don't see any reason to switch back. I am sure the new Android phones are far superior to when I attempted to use one, but there is nothing my old iPhone 6 doesn't do now that I would want it to. It will be nice to have the new (for Apple) tech, though. Resale on iPhones is ridiculous regardless of generation, which will help mitigate the cost of the new one. I honestly can't believe what people paid for my and my wife's previous old POS's on ebay.

I'm honestly really looking forward to being able to send a talking shit emoji in the likeness of my face to a few of my friends.

Good phone, will sell well but it doesn't do anything my S8+ doesn't. Samsung even gave them an inferior screen as opposed to S8+/Note 8 in terms of size, resolution and DPI, let alone the infinity curves on both sides.
I don't think it'll sway either camps one way or the other

I'll never spend 1k on a phone.
Open the phone with your face? Really who gives a shit.
Looks like I'll be keeping the 7 for a while.

Agreed. The wife and I have the iPhone 6 and about choked when they told me they were over $500 each 2 years ago. They are working great and I see no need to upgrade our phones right now, especially since they aren't paid off until the end of November.

That phone costs more than the 60" LG UHD TV I just bought and when optioned out is more than a new Macbook pro. I realize the tech isn't the same, but damn that's expensive when you consider how much other tech prices have declined or remained stable.

The only thing I really care about is the camera. My 7+ takes much better photos than anything I've ever owned.

As a iphone 6 owner... I'm getting an 8 plus. The X did not "wao" me.

I like that the new apple watch is a stand alone device (yes yes, I know that samsung already did that).

What's the difference between the 8 and X?

Agreed a great camera is near top of my list when buying a phone.
