Anyone have any experience with Sierra? Does it do anything useful besides add Siri to my laptop?

I'm using it on my Mac and MacBook. Works great, no issues. Typical Apple. Do it if your machine is compatible.

Do it. The only thing I've noticed it that it made my 2015 MacBook Pro start up a little slower like half a sec which is no biggie

Runs fine on my ancient MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010).

I finally realized I should get a new laptop. Sierra apparently will not install on my 2008 macbook.

It might be compatible, but you won't be able to install it from the App Store.

There's a procedure to download it and "burn" it to a thumb drive. That's what I had to do with my ancient MacBook Pro.

One thing about the old Macs (my desktop was the top model... back in 2011...) the OS runs great, but you have to download all these legacy apps to run older programs. I upgraded to Sierra, and it's been stable, but I keep trying to open old files and can't until I download a retro-compatibility app. I think I have them all set now; I'll find out the first time I have to go dig for an old file that I've forgotten about again.

Same with a 2010 air, but typical OS X release and you won't notice anything new

Macs work so well it's a good thing we don't need to "see" the tweaks from each update. :)

google this before you do anything:

Search: apple pc model+sierra+issues or slow down

Will save you some headache.

Runs great on my MBPR (both the late 2009 and late 2011) model I have... as well as my ancient Mac Pro..
