Samsung announced Gear S3 Smartwatch today
Samsung announced Gear S3 Smartwatch today
I think it's time to try one.
S3 is looking good IMO and has a standalone phone built-in. Looks like a normal watch and soooo many functions. I will be picking one up when it becomes available at VZ. Doublewristing here I come and it takes normal 22mm straps

My inner-geek has resisted the smart watch, largely because they seem to lack enough functional and aesthetic value for me. This new "Frontier" model has me a little excited, as it will accept natos, can run without a phone, has good specs, and I dig the charging dock.
When the iOS app comes out I'll try one.

Looks clean. I thought it was a pvd halios Delpin at first glance.

Yes for the first time it doesn't look ridiculous.
And, has always on mode so it looks like a watch at all times no need to wake up screen
I mean I'd wear that here and there, 316L Stee PVD, gorilla glass - basically sapphire and takes calls and texts

Lugs look really long on that guys wrist. I skimmed for specs but didn't see it?
Looks about 42 or 44mm by 55mm?

Yeah but that's what fitbit is for. Can't compare a dick with a pinky toe, S3 does17282829292 more than that oneSeppia wrote:They should advertise it as

Although the withings activité, albeit much more limited, looks approximately 17282829292 times better

I still don't need another gadget. One watch, one personal and one work phone is enough for me.

Looks good, but nope. If it can't go in the water I'm not wearing it. That and guess I'm too old fashioned.

Gorilla glass is not basically sapphire. Gorilla glass 5 is a 6 on the hardness scale. Sapphire is a 9Panerai7 wrote:Yes for the first time it doesn't look ridiculous.

I meant hard to scratch, harder than glass. I haven't used any screen protectors on all of my phone's and no scratches.
Re: Samsung announced Gear S3 Smartwatch today
How long does battery last in "always on" mode? It's a handsome thing, and I'm sure the custom "dials" people will make for it will be good.
Re: Samsung announced Gear S3 Smartwatch today
^ I believe it said 1-2 days in "always on" mode.

That does look really nice, although kind of dressy for a supposed "fitness watch".Seppia wrote:They should advertise it as

I wish I'd seen this thread a few days ago, I just bought a fitbit surge. Does everything I wanted it to do, but doesn't look nearly as good doing it.
