Pre Loaded NES

Post by unsub073 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 7:23 am

This is one way to live your childhood gaming all over again.

http://www.nintendo.com/nes-classic
The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

Just plug the NES Classic Edition into your TV, pick up that gray controller, and rediscover the joy of NES games.

Dude. Thank you for posting this.
I recently was thinking of picking up an old NES as I'm old school and love the old games from my childhood. Turns out if you want a decent working system you are looking to pay $200!!

This is perfect and has games I want such as kid Icarus and Zelda II. $60 bucks is a no brainer!

I was gonna say no to this, since I still have an nes and super nes, but after looking at the game list and realizing you don't have to take the cartridge out and blow in it to fix it... This is an instant buy.

Preorder should be up on Amazon in about a week or so. (Placeholder already there) I'll post it in this thread when it is.

Nostalgia. I love these old games and I'm 36, born in 1980. I was 5 when these came out and we were one of the first on our block to get one as my dad had won one in a contest at work. Great memories, and some of the games while the graphics are of course horrible are quite challenging.

I'll have you know, the last two watches I sold (Sinn & Stowa) were on OEM straps.

Does this NES have "pong"?

Depends-
My son plays Mario kart, various Mario games and donkey kong on Wii u and 3ds (sometimes, well usually needing my help).
I plugged in the super nes in the beginning of the year and he was getting so frustrated with donkey kong country and the old Mario kart. Nintendo does a good job at keeping even challenging games kid friendly- like if you die like 10 times in the new Mario you can be the golden raccoon who's invinciBle, and the same with super Kong.

Seppia wrote:I was always a SEGA guy to be honest, but I'd totally buy this. Not for $60 though.

fun fact: in Italian, SEGA has two funny meanings

1- to jerk off, "farsi una sega", literally "to give yourself a jerk off"

2- used also as "you suck", "noob".
"Sei una sega", "you really suck" in the sense of "you have no skill"

So my fiends and I, from 1985 on, would always laugh while jerking off every time we turned on any SEGA system and it would greet you with

"SEEEEE-GA"

:jerk:

I had a SEGA game gear, I was so much cooler than everyone's Gameboys. If only the batteries lasted more than five minutes.

Yeah, pretty much all of my favorite circa '85 NES games are on it.
