Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the voice message option? The little microphone to the right of the text box...If there is a way, I can't find it!

If you go to settings/general/restrictions, there is the microphone that you can turn off...

Not what he is looking for. There are two options now for iOS 8 in messaging. One, the original voice to text, and another which allows you to send an audio message to the recipient.
I'll look and see if there is a way to remove it, but I believe it is built in to the iMessage app.

Just looked around. No way to disable unless your phone is jailbroken and then an app needs to be downloaded called "noaudiorecorder"
