Galaxy Note 4
Galaxy Note 4
Just picked it up yesterday on Verizon....First Android I have used since the Droid Bionic many years back.....Things have changed a lot i see A few impressions:
-Although a big device, after about an hour it didn't feel big anymore and weirdly felt like any other device i have had like the Nokia Icon etc.
-The S Pen is incredible.....I see this being something i use a lot not only to write, but to navigate, clip, copy and paste etc
-The build quality is awesome....Samsung has generally made very cheap looking and feeling devices....this is not that at all with the steel bands etc...Very premium
-Photo quality is fantastic.....I was never expecting it to be as good as my Lumia Icon, but damn if it isn't......maybe even a tad better especially for up close objects/macro
-The battery seems pretty damn good so far to get through a whole day, maybe more even with use
-The screen is bar none the most beautiful i have seen on any phone period.....Quad HD.
The processor speed is really really fast....
I was shocked at the deal i got from Verizon....I have been watching them on eBay selling from 700-900 all day long since they are in demand and many stores don't have them yet....I walked into Verizon, they had them......THey are $699 full price, and even though i didn't want to upgrade and sign a contract, they still let me trade in an old smartphone and i got like $200 for it.....Holy hell i paid like $500 for it no contract etc.....Seemed like a great deal

Re: Galaxy Note 4
I can wait for a month, I got 5 lines and keep upgrading 4 of them every 6 months without losing unlimited date on the main one.ericf4 wrote:just buy it outright....thats why i did it, i don't want contracts and shit like that....
It'll be 250, I'll wait.
Re: Galaxy Note 4
i think they are $299 right now in store, so i figured i paid a bit more to be free as a bird...lol
Re: Galaxy Note 4
That's a great deal, hopefully they'll still be running 200$ trade in deal

Had a Note, liked it but just way too much going on there, so switched back to the iPhone.

Re: Galaxy Note 4
i looked at the iPhone 6plus but couldn't justify getting a bigger phone just to have a bigger phone without any real increase in function over its smaller sibling....The note gives me useful function and strangely enough is smaller footprint than the 6plus. I was also concerned going from Windows phone thats very personalizable to iOS which is very locked down....Locked down is great as it controls the experience, but i wanted something a tad more personal...so far so good.

I found that the Note just did too much! You could land a plane with that thing. I got the iPhone 6, not Plus as I like that it syncs with my laptop, iPads etc...easy peasy!

Then you're using the loophole that I was, and just FYI, they closed it this year. You can no-longer downgrade a data package line to a non-data package line. You have to pay the data fees for the entire life of the contract.

Oh well I'll figure something out. There's always a waymatt.wu wrote:Then you're using the loophole that I was, and just FYI, they closed it this year. You can no-longer downgrade a data package line to a non-data package line. You have to pay the data fees for the entire life of the contract.

Man that's awesome. I picked up my G3 right before the note came out. And I was coming off a Droid Bionic too. Wasn't sure if I needed a stylus for work. So far I haven't. The larger screen seems to fit my fat fingered hands better. Can't wait for the new Lollipop update that should help with battery life.
Enjoy the note. I just saw the Note 4 Edge came out too.

Congrats, Eric. I gotta wait till June! I use the stylus on my Note 2 almost exclusively when "surfing." It's so much more precise than fingertips and lots fewer errors. I sometimes use every micron of its sensitivity to make precise touches.
