Anybody know their Android apps?
I'm in desperate need of a really good "virtual keyboard" to replace the lame keyboard that came stock with the Honeycomb 3.1 in my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. It's so painful to use that I'm basically speechless when using my tablet.
Has anyone used an aftermarket keyboard from an app store?

Swiftkey Tablet X is awesome - use it on my Tab 8.9!

When I first got my Galaxy nexus, Google was running a 10 days of 10 cent apps promo. I bought swiftkey and swype. The swiftkey works so well for me that i have never even tried the swype .

What made you get it, and what's the biggest difference from the standard issue keyboard?djh1201 wrote:Swiftkey Tablet X is awesome - use it on my Tab 8.9!

check out Swype. Allows you to not have to type the letters but move to each one. You may like it

Too many reasons to list! Free 30 day trial, give it a try. Swype is good too, but prefer Swiftkey.pacifichrono wrote:What made you get it, and what's the biggest difference from the standard issue keyboard?djh1201 wrote:Swiftkey Tablet X is awesome - use it on my Tab 8.9!

I'll second that. Swype is the best Android keyboard replacement, bar none. It takes a little getting used to at firs, but once you do, you'll be typing faster than anything else out there and you'll be doing it with a single finger. I have it on all my Android devices and it rocks. You can't find it in Google Play though. Youhave to side load it directly from Swype:jeckyll wrote:check out Swype. It says Beta, but it really isn't. What they mean is that there are some devices for which swype is the preloaded keyboard and they update those directly. for others they have to release a "beta" which you have to manually update about once or twice per year. It is the same software minus the auto update feature though.
Here is a recent video of the latest version of Swype showing you some of the cool shit it can do:
BTW, Swype is a product of the same company that develops and runs Siri for Apple.

Never tried swype, but I do like swiftkey - I think my version just auto-updated to version 3?
