My first G-Shock........and its a fake

Post by snootydog » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:48 am

This is not a great start into the world of G Shocks, for me. Saw a 7900 Rescue on ebay and the seller is fairly local and the price was......cheap. Ok maybe i should have known better but she had 100% seller status and feedback so i gave it a go. I really didnt know if i will like G Shocks so i'm not prepared to splash a lot of cash at this point.
It took me all of two seconds to realise something wasnt right. The display was too high in the window and the case back wasnt stamped as i was expecting.
Good news is,she's giving a full refund. Its such a piece of crap,i cant even be bothered to take pics :angryfire:

I like the 7900's. Between fleabay and Amazon, there are loads out there.
I just got one of the new Rescue series that I've been happy with (pics forthcoming).

That sucks Andy :cussing: . On the G forum on WUS they had a sticky near the top of the forum for people who came across fake G's. If you have a pic or the seller's pic post it up in there so others don't can avoid that one. Hope it works out for you and don't give up  .

That sucks, that's why I avoid flee bay What model 7900 is it? I recommend this website: http://www.watchesgiant.com/gshock.html
The basic 7900 goes for 72 bucks + shipping and the all black solar atomic GW7900-b goes for $109 and they're an AD (for warranty purposes if you care about that), a lot of places that sell G-shocks are not. They're a little slow in shipping but I think their low prices are worth it.

 Oh damn!

That's just terrible! Even worse that it was your intro to G's.. total :bs: !! After she gives you a full refund, leave her negative feedback. I did that to a seller and she got pissed. She assumed that because she gave me a full refund plus my return shipping all was good. Nope  Muwhahahaha! Went back and left bad remarks in my area, but I contacted Ebay and they removed them. I HATE sellers of fakes.. I'd love to hang 'em out to dry :hanged:

Lots of good sellers on Ebay. I can give you a couple numbers if you'd like. One is for an AD and one is for a seller who is also on Ebay (can also give you an email--response time is good). Both are 100% and then some

Well,i had a few G's in mind and came across one that our Dom had once owned. Sent him a PM saying what i had seen and what i had in mind and what was his opinion?. He replied saying he saw the UK (the one that turned out to be fake)one on ebay and he would go for that one. So,i blame Dom for this fiasco  and if my second one turns out to be fake too (because its incoming),he is in deep shit

ebay: always search for CASIO G-Shock...... some may offer scab product listed as like GShock or others, but cannot scab on "Casio"

Lots of FAKE G-Shocks around. People seem to think because they are usually inexpensive that no one would bother
but that isn't true at all. I remember the flood of BAPE's a few years ago. The fakes are usually pretty bad if you know
your G's. I havn't handled one yet that fooled me. I've seen quite a few of them. The Gun shop where I hang out is
full a lot of the time from Military personel home on leave, and if they've been to any of the "popular" spots, they are usually
sporting a FAKE Frogman, or other G.
Regards Sonny
