on a whim . . .

Post by poppydog » Thu Jul 06, 2017 2:34 am

I've just received my first ever G-Shock, and was pretty excited for a few minutes, until I realised I don't have a Phd in rocket science to set the fucking thing up. Instructions make no sense, but have managed to set the time, but the day an date are simply a mystery. It's a GD-100MS-3ER if that means anything to anyone who might be able to help  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

If it's like my g-shocks you should be able to set-up time, day, date etc etc by holding down the top left button (adjust) until the display starts to flash..... then scroll thru to the day, date or whatever you want to set up by pressing the bottom left button (mode) and stop on the one you want to change..... then you can change it either plus or minus using the buttons on the right..... when you've got it how you want it just pass the adjust button again..... clear as mud??

You'll also see a screen that says DST (and you activate that if it's daylight savings time otherwise leave it off).

Hope that works

Thanks Donna, yeah, got that, but can't get it on the correct day: got the year, month, day and time, but it's set on the wrong day of the week. Still, guess that's not a biggie, perhaps need more time to mess around with it, just not used to digitals, first I've had apart from my dive computer.

Maybe this explains better than the manual that came with the watch

That's weird.... I couldn't deal with the day being wrong, it would drive me insane.

Thanks guys, sorted it: the order of day and date is how they're displayed in the US and not the UK, so was setting them the wrong way around. Still more complicated than my Suunto, though.
