Impulse buys...

Post by Joeprez » Sat Mar 25, 2017 9:08 am

This happened just after last week's camping trip. Ideally I would be keeping one out of these three, but my daughter loved the orange one so trying to decide between the Rangeman (three sensors) and the Mudmaster (two sensors).

I do not like analog G's at all. My bro had one a while ago and the minute hand would jump every 15sec- smooth it was not.

I have had many G's over the years and still wear one almost every day... over the years I have drifted away from negative display... tough to read..

I wear an MTG and Mudman ... but my go to is a GW-M5610 modified.... on a combi bracelet.

Got pics of the modded M5610?

Are you sure it didn't just need a battery change?
only accurate watches are interesting

I would keep the Rangeman for two reasons: solar powered and atomic timekeeping.

That's how it works on the Analog Gs. I've had a few and they all do that. The minute hand only moves 4 times a minute. On most full analogs all hand other the minute and hour hand are completely independently operated.

The compass feature on the Mudmaster is really cool, the seconds hand becomes the compass needle. But it's a BIG watch. Also is not solar, which sucks really.

I like the Rangeman except for the negative display. Might look into swapping a positive display module or just getting another version.

Also it sucks that these three watches use a LED for the illumination of the display. The display of my G7900 uses backlight illumination... way better in my opinion. Too bad the G7900 doesn't have a compass, a feature that I really like.

I'm not sure about that. I've had an all analog Giez and an ana/digi titanium G that showed seconds digitally and both operated this way. I figured all Casio models did this.
