If the street price is around $500-600 then I might want one too.

I'd grab one for a reasonable price.

Wow a g-shock with a sapphire crystal! Hope street prices aren't crazy high.

I like that. Not enough to throw $1k at it, but at $450-$500 I'd be inclined.

This shit costs more than a dive computer, is as big if not bigger than many dive computers, just freaking do it.

Today there is no solar powered dive computer that kinda sorta looks like a regular watch, suunto has some sleek ones but they are $1000 or more and are battery powered.

Casio would make a killing if they just implemented a dive algorithm.

I can't imagine this is too tough.
I'd want to know what algorithm they use. Would be a pain in the butt to lock out your nice watch while on a dive trip because it's too conservative. :)

For a computer / bottom timer, I generally like the big ass display, a watch just doesn't have the screen real estate needed IMO.

I saw only one Frogman in the flesh, the military color model, I had it for a day or so. I was actually impressed by how good it felt, solid and heftier then regular Casio. A real quality watch. At least that one I had was really really good. I think the best Casio fit and finish on such a watch, at least of all the ones I had.

What turn me down is first of all the price which is really stiff and the looks. I mean, do they really have to mark FROGMAN on the bezel? And GShock and Shock resist in white so it is high contrast with the case? It just makes the watch look cheap, giving some sort of marking that it does not need. The marking can be smaller, more subtle and a little more elegant. They are not needed to be read underwater or whatever.

The other thing that is a problem is their proprietary strap and lug system. Unfortunately I can not ever wear their watches that have that, I used some adapters some time but I ended up owning just two Protrek with regular lugs that I can put normal straps on, mostly Nato or Zulu kind.

I had an older Frogman briefly and it was a smaller version. It was to bad and it was a super cool watch in the looks department but it wore like crap. I felt like I had a soap dish on my wrist.

this is their top line and you can't have it for $400 - $500 when much simpler Gs cost 300 or so

Awesome pics. I'm a little concerned about the one of the old lady in the beach bench but otherwise cool. I'm sure some here appreciate the other pic. ;)

Kinda like the look, but still prefer a Suunto.
